Translating the vision on social work towards the new professional’s action
Times are turbulent in the Dutch social work1 sector. The introduction of the Wmo (Wet Maatschappelijke Ondersteuning = Social Support Act) brought many new challenges and now there is a new government programme called ‘New Style Social Work’ (Welzijn Nieuwe Stijl). Social work organizations are wondering what the new government is going to do. There will be budget cuts, but there may also be new policies and different priorities in social work. What is the best course of action?
